We are thrilled to announce that the Chequers Indian Lounge, nestled in the village of Great Blakenham just on the outskirts of Ipswich, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a place on the shortlist for this year’s prestigious Asian Curry Awards.

From a pool of over 200 remarkable venues across the nation, the Chequers Indian Lounge has emerged as a finalist. Now, the fate of these deserving establishments lies in the hands of the public, who will cast their votes online to determine the top 100. Subsequently, a distinguished panel of judges from the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) will meticulously evaluate these contenders to unveil the category winners.

The Asian Curry Awards encompass a diverse array of culinary traditions, spanning Bangladeshi, Burmese, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Middle Eastern, Pakistani, Singaporean, Sri Lankan, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese cuisines.

ACF Chairman Yawar Khan said: “We’re seeing some remarkable innovation by pioneering restaurateurs, adapting to challenging trading conditions and more sophisticated customer preferences. Afternoon chai, weekend brunch, more use of quality local produce – especially seafood and game, are now being widely served.”
